Nizar Mezhar was born in 1958 in India, his parents come originally from the Haraz region. Nizar is inspired from the Yemen landscape and Yemeni people. Most of his paintings reflect the differences of architecture, national costumes and lifestyle of various areas in Yemen. His art work seems to shed the light on the people emphasizing the common and different elements the distinguish Yemeni people from other areas.
